WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR MESSAGE

If you write to me through the form, I read your message and reply to you. If we end up working together, I also keep a record of what we agreed. I do not add anyone to a mailing list.

The rest of this page is the detail.

WHEN YOU VISIT THIS SITE

Bunny CDN serves this site. Its logs record your IP address, the page you asked for and the time. They also record which browser you used, which page you came from, which country you are in, who your internet provider is and a fingerprint of your browser’s connection. Bunny receives your full IP address in order to serve the page, and masks it in the logs I can see. Bunny keeps the logs for three days. I do not archive them anywhere else or pass them on. They are used to keep the site running and secure. That purpose is the legitimate interest I rely on for them.

This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics and no trackers. The fonts come from this site itself.

WHEN YOU USE THE FORM

The form asks for three things: your name, your email address and your message.

It sends them to Formward, a form service in Stockholm, Sweden, which runs on servers in Sweden. Formward emails your message to me through Mailjet, in France. The email lands in my mailbox at Runbox, in Norway.

Formward keeps a copy of each message in its dashboard, and says it deletes that copy itself after 30 days.

Formward says it turns your IP address into a keyed hash when it receives it, and never writes the raw address to disk.

If you email me at hello@hesketh.ai instead, your email lands in the same mailbox.

WHY I USE IT, AND THE LAW I RELY ON

I use your message to read it and answer it. If work follows, I use it to keep a record of what we agreed.

The law I rely on is legitimate interest. In plain terms, that is a reasonable, low-impact use that does not need your separate permission: here, answering a message you chose to send. If you ask about working together, I also rely on the steps you ask me to take before we agree a contract.

HOW LONG I KEEP IT

I keep your message while we are in touch. Once a year, I delete what you sent if the last message between us is more than two years old. If work follows, accounting rules decide how long its records are kept. Formward’s copy has a shorter rule of its own: 30 days, on Formward’s own account.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE

hesketh.ai is my own site. Under data protection law, the controller of your details is HESKETH AS, org. no. 938 355 908, Vitaminveien 26, 0483 Oslo, Norway.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can ask to see what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, delete it or limit how I use it, and ask for a copy in a form you can reuse. You can also object to how I use it. If you are in Norway or elsewhere in the EEA, you can raise a concern with Datatilsynet, the Norwegian data protection authority. If you are in the UK, you can raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
